Here are the solutions you need to cure disease that kill Africans

Barely one week after raising awareness about the cardiovascular heart disease that kills rapidly, a leading healthcare system company has proffered a solution to the dreaded ailment.

A report by the Philips in partnership with the World Heart Federation (WHF) had shown that disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, with over 17.5 million losing their lives in 2015 alone, while it also added that about 55 percent of Nigerians were ignorant of the disease.

But, the company, during the Medic West Africa conference in Lagos, revealed a portfolio of data driven technologies that could help with early diagnosis and treatment.

In a chat with Alexluckynews on Thursday, George Udukwu, the business development manager of the company revealed that cardiovascular heart disease is the leading cause of death globally, many times these are preventable in a certain way.

“We see that the level of awareness in terms of healthy living is reaching an unprecedented level. Within our company, we are putting the right technology in the hands of the people to take control of their health. Make the right decisions and take care of themselves.

“Our approach is what we call the continuum of care approach. That means that we have solutions that are relevant across the various continuum of care; from healthy living to prevention, to diagnosis and treatment.

These solutions are all connected and they are integrated,” he explained.

Asked how an average man could access the healthcare facilities, Udukwu noted that, “it’s not for specific people, it’s for everyone. We say there are people behind all the innovations that we have. We care about the patients and how they feel using our equipment.

“We care about the doctor using it, we ask how economical is it? We care about the payer, the investors. To what extent does this drive value for them? So, for us, we try to create superior values for each category of users.”

On the company’s vision for the society, the spokesperson stated further that their vision is to touch three billion lives every year by 2025.

“This is majority of the world population here in developing world and when we innovate, we innovate with these group of people in mind. Some of the solutions we showcased; our cardiac ultrasound is a device that combines a breakthrough technology in ultrasound scanning with portability,” he added.

During the event, Ime Umo, CEO of the technology company also informed that “With advancements in data driven digital health technology, radiology has the power to significantly impact the way care is delivered, as it plays a critical role in the majority of healthcare decisions.
