EFFC to investigate all corrupt APC member

The acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, on Tuesday said the commission’s current campaign against corrupt persons has the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari, stressing that the President has directed that it goes after some officials in government.

Speaking in Kaduna, Magu said with the political will demonstrated by Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, the country will win the anti-graft war.

Stressing that the current anti-corruption crusade was well structured, the EFCC boss said the commission was also after some “Nigerian leaders” perceived to be corrupt.

According to Magu, “We have cause to investigate and in fact we are investigating even those that are in government without them knowing.

“The president has given me the mandate to investigate every corrupt Nigerian leader irrespective of his political affiliation.

“The fight against corruption is designed and structured to boost confidence in the economy as well as to attract investors both within and outside the country.”
Earlier, Magu had described corruption as a crime against humanity.

This is coming at a time when two judges under investigation of corruption, Justice Okoro Inyang and Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, alleged that Amaechi spoke to them on different occasions , to influence judgments of two different elections.
