The family of late famous community leader and social crusader Chief Christopher Ejike Onah, popularly called Papa Nsukka, are demanding for true justice four years after their benefactor was gruesomely murdered.
Relations of the deceased say they were most sad that some of those who participated in the murder were still walking around the community with ease.
Speaking to journalists on the matter, Pastor Obodoike Chikodili Onyishi of the Sabbath Church said it was quite lamentable that their brother’s killers were still within the University town of Nsukka, causing more troubles at Agbani.
He stated that apart from moving around unhindered, the suspects were also destabilizing the Agbani neighbourhood watch group.
While accusing one Osita Ezema of working to shield the suspects, he further alleged that the suspects had already formed a parallel neighbourhood watch in the community.
“Their action has in no small measure frustrated every effort of the community to inaugurate the recognized neighbourhood watch group.
“We have written series of petitions to both the Area commander, Nsukka police and the commissioner for human development and poverty reduction in Enugu State over this matter.
“The then Area commander Nsukka police command had also
conducted an election for the neighbourhood watch and Orumah Festus emerged, but these people, who are bent on fomenting trouble still refused to recognize the outcome of the election.
“The Commissioner for poverty reduction, Hon. Obinna Mbeke came and conducted fresh election and Orumah Festus still emerged as chairman”, he stated.
While noting that the suspects were bent on holding the community to ransom in order to cover up their murder case, he called on the commissioner of police in Enugu State to order a fresh investigation on the matter.
He re-called that apart from Onyebuchi Agu and Uchenna Onyishi, who were arrested as soon as Papa Nsukka was killed, other suspects have been left to move freely.
“We are using this medium to prevail on the Enugu State Commissioner of police to get justice for this traumatized family.
“I know that nothing will bring our brother back to life but justice should be seen to have been done”, he concluded.
