Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has said Alex Iwobi needs “support” after scoring an own goal in their 2-2 draw with Paris Saint-Germain, in their Champions League group game on Wednesday.
The Super Eagles forward diverted Lucas Moura’s header past David Ospina in the 77th minute, to hand PSG one point and top spot in Group A.
Wenger says the incident was “frustrating”, but there is no need dwelling on it.
“It can happen. The frustrating thing was that Ospina was behind him,” the Frenchman said.
“He is certainly most disappointed by what happened to him but that’s part of the game.
“We have to take that on the chin, support him and go back into the next game.”
Iwobi was taken off immediately after the own goal incident with Granit Xhaka replacing him.
He has made 15 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions this season.
