Man murdered inside church
The deceased identified as Bongani Mfengu, was killed at the Thabo Mbeki squatter camp in Philippi East, near Cape Town, South Africa
.
According to Daily Sun SA, the deceased's family are still unsure of the reason why their son was murdered in that way.
Confirming the story, the pastor Sakhiwe Maseti of St John’s Apostolic Church, said his attacker had been chasing him with a hammer and knife, just before he ran into his church. He said :
“ I heard a man calling for help while running towards my church, maybe he knew he was dying so he chose a church of all places because he wanted to die close to God the creator. Bongani first fell in the churchyard after the suspect attacked him. He then stood up and ran into the church . Before I could intervene, the attacker hit Bongani with a hammer and stabbed him. He died on the spot.”
One of the deceased's family members identified as Ntombifikile Magiyose, said the suspect must have had plans to kill him, because he had earlier invited him for a drink.
Another relative, Nolmaindiya Mfengu, said the deceased was a known hard worker who had just started another business.
Speaking to the Daily Sun correspondents, the police spokesman, Captain Frederick Van Wyk, said:
“The victim was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend after an argument. A 26-year-old suspect was arrested later that night.”
The suspect is expected to appear in the Athlone Magistrate's Court later.

BREAKING: Boko Haram leader Shekau surfaces in new video, denies fall of Sambisa
The Guardian is reporting that Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau has appeared in a new video to deny claims that the insurgent group has been crushed and flushed out of its Sambisa forest stronghold.
The Boko Haram leader, who was flanked in his usual style by armed fighters, denied defeat of the insurgent group.
Shekau says in a new video that reports of Sambisa's fall were totally untrue.
“We are safe. We have not been flushed out of anywhere. And tactics and strategies cannot reveal our location except if Allah wills by his decree,” The Guardian quoted Shekau as saying in the video which is said to last 25 minutes.
“You should not be telling lies to the people,” he added before querying
“If you indeed crushed us, how can you see me like this? How many times have you killed us in your bogus death?”
Shekau's denial comes just a day after the Nigerian Army briefed journalists in Maiduguri, Borno state capital about the way the military outfit led other armed forces to take over what is now known as Camp Zero, Boko Haram's stronghold in Sambisa forest.
Commanding officer of Operation Lafiya Dole Lucky Irabor said at the conference that Shekau's personal qu'ran and a flag were found at the camp, left behind as he made haste to abandon the camp which was besieged by Nigerian armed forces from all directions.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari announced the fall of Sambisa in a goodwill message to the military on Saturday, December 24.
In the statement, the president said the fall of Sambisa's Camp Zero was achieved at around 1.35pm a day earlier.
Journalist Salkida, who is usually privy to such videos, reacted in a rather unusual manner on his Twitter handle to reports of the new video by Shekau.
He tweeted:
10:48 AM - 29 Dec 2016
The authenticity of the video cannot be immediately verified and may have been shot long before the destruction of Camp Zero by the Nigerian armed forces.
On its part, the Nigerian Army has said it is not aware of the existence of such a video.
Nigerian Army's spokesperson Brigadier-General S.K. Usman, when called by NAIJ.com for comments on the development on Thursday, December 29, said the military is yet to see the video of Shekau's denial.
Cristiano Ronaldo not at his best – Maradona
Argentine legend, Diego Maradona, has noted that Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo is “not at his best,” and believes this is the period for his former club, Napoli to play the Spanish giants in the Champions League last 16.
The Portugal captain has enjoyed a stellar 2016, winning the Champions League crown, Euro 2016 glory and a fourth Ballon d’Or.
He bagged a hat-trick in the Club World Cup final, as Real added to their enviable collection of silverware.
But Maradona is of the opinion that a man with 23 goals in 22 appearances for club and country this season is not performing at the peak of his powers.
The Napoli icon wishes the Serie A side were running into Ronaldo and Real at this stage but fears the Spaniards and their star man will be back to their best by the time a Champions League last-16 encounter rolls around in the new year.
Maradona told reporters, “I want [Madrid-Napoli] to be played today because Ronaldo is not at his best.
“However, by February I think he’ll be in top condition, as will his teammates.”
Man abandons 19-year-old wife, marries mother in-law
A 22-year-old man, identified as Mahto Suraj has abandoned his wife, Latila and married his wife’s mother Asha Devi.
Mahto was said to have abandoned his 19-year-old wife, for the mother after she visited them when he was sick.
India Times reports that Asha left her husband who is a factory worker in Delhi and started living with Suraj and had a court marriage and a formal temple wedding.
Mahto claimed to have fallen in love with his 42-year-old mother-in-law when she came to stay with him and his wife in the village of Puraini in Bihar, in the north-eastern part of India in 2015.
The panchayat ruled that, “The couple is madly in love and there is no reason to separate them.”
However, Mahto is now pleading for the marriage bond to be broken so that he could return to his former wife, Latila, claiming he had now realised his foolishness.
“I have come to realize my foolishness. I admit I have committed the mistake, but will never repeat in future. Now, I no longer treat her (Devi) as my wife, rather, I have started paying her regard as a mother and an in-law that she is.
“I am on my knees, I’m begging Lalita to take me back home for the sake of our son,” Mahto added
There will be no peace in Nigeria until we get Biafra – BIM threatens
The Biafra Independent Movement, BIM, has affirmed that it won’t relent on its oars until the independent state of Biafra is realized.
BIM is one of the frontline groups affiliated to the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB).
In a statement by the leader of MASSOB-BIM, Ebonyi South zone, Mr.
Sunday Ezaka, the way to lasting peace and political stability of Nigeria was for the Federal Government to allow the sovereignty of Biafra nation to come into full existence.
He said, “Members of MASSOB-BIM in Ebonyi South zone, Ebonyi State support Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, the leader of MASSOB-BIM and Chief S.O Chukwu for their vision for the Igbo and Biafra nation.
“Today, Biafra has come to be a reality and very soon it will be open and clear to everybody. The only thing that will bring peace to Nigeria and Biafra is for the Federal Government to stop opposing the full existence of Biafra.”
Also, MASSOB-BIM leader for Anambra North, Chief Emmanuel Omenka, while speaking in Onitsha yesterday through the zonal Director of Information, Charles Igbokwe, said the people of the South East have made up their mind to work for the freedom of their people.
He said it was their time to save their people from bondage by doing the needful so that their people could be liberated from bondage and political servitude.
“If Biafra stays on its own, it will help a lot. We have all the minerals resources and endowment that will help us develop and be independent for life. It will bring peace as Biafran will develop without bounds. The Federal Government is not helping matters and we blame them for all the deaths of our members since the agitation began in the country,” he said.
Adamawa begins closure of IDP camps
Adamawa State Government has disclosed that it will close all Internally Displaced Persons’ camps in the state within a month.
Deputy Governor, Martins Babale, spoke on Wednesday in Yola while briefing newsmen on the outcome of a State Security Council meeting.
Babale said the administration was not happy with the continuous existence of IDPs camps across the state.
His words: “We will take steps, including encouraging them to settle in villages; we will collaborate with all stakeholders to make sure that between now and January 30, everyone has left the camps”.
Babale, who doubles as Chairman of the State Emergency Management Agency, said the continuous stay of IDPs in the camps when all parts of the state affected by the insurgency had been recovered was affecting the image of the state.
Meanwhile, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mallam Ahmad Sajoh, said the meeting amdorsed massive enlightenment of the public to be vigilant and be on alert to report insurgents fleeing from the Sambisa Forest.
The commissioner said government would collaborate with organisations like the National Union of Road Transport Workers in tracking such fleeing insurgents.
Learn from PDP experience – Timi Frank tells Oyegun
Suspended Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Timi Frank, has warned his party against following the footsteps of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
According to Frank, the ruling party should avoid showing the kind of arrogance which led to the rejection of the PDP by the Nigerian people in 2015.
Frank was speaking yesterday in Abuja in reaction to an interview granted by the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, in Benin during the week.
Oyegun was quoted as saying that no mega party will survive the APC.
Frank said such “arrogant” comments were capable of inciting the Nigerian public against the APC, adding that similar dismissive comments by a former PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, during the merger, which led to the formation of the APC, won over several Nigerians to the side of the APC.
Frank said, “I can say this emphatically that my national chairman has not met with any of the aggrieved national leaders of the APC.
“I think as a party, we should not undermine the strength of this much-talked-about mega party, whether it is a rumour or not. I think we should do everything possible to defeat the move through genuine reconciliation within us.
“We must remember that this is how the PDP took the APC for granted during the formation stage, and the likes of Bamanga Tukur were busy saying ‘no vacancy in Villa’, ‘PDP will rule for 60 years’; but where are they today?
“So, our national chairman should learn to reconcile aggrieved members instead of offending them the more. It has shown today that even ruling party could lose election; so, we should stop talking arrogantly because we are in power.”
Nurse pulls off baby's hand during delivery in Lagos
It was a shocking case recently as an auxiliary nurse, Oyekanmi, pulled off the hands of a new baby while trying to deliver the pregnant mum in labour.
The Punch reports that the pregnant woman, Adeola, had been taken to Oyekanmi’s residence in the Odogunyan, Ikorodu area of Lagos on Saturday, December 24, when she went into labour. It was while attempting to force the baby out that the nurse pulled off the baby's arm.
When she noticed that things were out of her control, she advised that the child be taken to the Ikorodu General Hospital, where the dead child was finally delivered. Doctors at the hospital were reported to have queried the baby’s parents on what truly transpired, and they opened up. The hospital management then alerted the police to the incident. She was however arrested.
An anonymous witness told The Punch, saying:
“What happened was that the auxiliary nurse tried to deliver the woman of the baby, during which there was a complication. But she continued and in the end, the hand of the baby was pulled off while she tried to force the child out from the mother’s womb.
“Afterwards, they quickly packed the woman together and brought her to the general hospital. It had become a critical case by then. The remains of the dead child were brought out, while the matter was reported to the police.”
The police public relations officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident, adding that investigations were ongoing. She said:
“The doctor at the hospital discovered that something was amiss after taking a close look at the dead child and seeing that one hand had been pulled off. All the parties were invited to make statements. It is a case of infanticide; investigations are ongoing.”
So sad!

Chelsea made it 12 win in a row read what conte said his player is
The Belgium international scored a second-half penalty as Antonio Conte's men moved nine points clear at the top of the Premier League table on Boxing Day
Chelsea won their 12th Premier League game in a row for the first time in their history as they downed Bournemouth 3-0 on Boxing Day to move nine points clear at the top of the table.
The Blues were without suspended star duo N'Golo Kante and Diego Costa but they still managed to secure a record-breaking victory at Stamford Bridge.
Pedro opened the scoring for Chelsea after 24 minutes, though he will miss his side's next clash against Stoke City after picking up a booking.
Eden Hazard converted his 50th Premier League goal for the club from the penalty spot after being fouled by Simon Francis in the second half, before Pedro added a third late on.
With Costa and Kante banned, Pedro and Cesc Fabregas filled in as Michy Batshuayi was again left on the bench.
It was a quick-thinking Fabregas who lofted a free-kick into the path of Pedro, forcing Francis to make a timely intervention inside the opening five minutes.
Hazard called Artur Boruc into action after quarter of an hour with a low drive that was always well within the goalkeeper's reach.
The hosts continued to look the more threatening and Pedro cut in from the left before firing wide with a swerving effort across the face of goal.
The breakthrough came at the end of a well-worked move, finished by Pedro when he curled a superb strike over Boruc from the edge of the box for his fourth goal in the last five matches at Stamford Bridge.
Bournemouth produced a spirited response and Thibaut Courtois had to make a smart near-post save to deny Jack Wilshere a prompt leveller.
The Arsenal loanee also saw a volley deflected wide on the half-hour mark, while Fabregas lifted a set-piece just over the crossbar at the other end.
PLAY
Conte was afforded a more restful second half after Francis felled Hazard in the box and the Belgian put the spot-kick away for his 50th Premier League goal.
A Victor Moses half-volley flashed wide of Boruc's right-hand upright as Chelsea sought to put the game beyond Bournemouth's reach.
It was not all good news for the Blues, though, as Pedro's yellow card earned him a suspension for the New Year's Day visit of Stoke City.
Indeed, they could have been in for a nervy final 18 minutes had Courtois not made a fine stop from Benik Afobe after the substitute went through one-on-one.
But that was as close as Howe's charges came to setting up a grandstand finish, with Chelsea ending 2016 on a high as Pedro's deflected effort rounded off a swift counter-attack and made it 3-0.

The leaders identified as Kibingei Ward MCA Justus Kibaba and a parliamentary aspirant for the Jubilee Party Didmus Barasa, fought during a Jamhuri Day celebration at Amtalla Stadium on Monday, December 12.

"I gave you the chance to be in charge of distributing 12 posho mills to poor women but you only selected your women friends," Barasa said.
Barasa also accused the MCA of misusing KSh 3 million meant to buy women groups incubators.

The two leaders then engaged in an ugly fist fight that shocked the crowd and government officials who were attending the function. The founder of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle John Suleman has released his prophecies for the year 2017.
Suleman warned citizens of African nations to ‘sit up and sit tight’ for he sees God’s hands coming into the affairs of Africa, particularly Nigeria and Ghana, in the New Year.
“I see presidents being removed in Africa, I see presidents being installed,” said Suleman while ministering at the just concluded ‘Fresh Fire’ revival which held at the new Lagos headquarters of his ministry, OFM.
“Two times, Nigeria’s vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, will face removal from office. They will alienate him and they will make attempts to remove him. But God will humble Buhari in 2017.
And the New Year is when the Nigerian government will fight the Church like never before,” he said.

Woman beat housemaid to death read what she said
A middle-aged woman, Linda Alapa, has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly beating her 10-year-old housemaid, Joy Mbafan, to death.
Alapa, before beating the minor to death, was said to have also starved her severally.
The Punch reports that Mbafan lived with the suspect on Bolanle Oduniyi Street, Okegbegun, in the Ikorodu area of the state.
According to the report, the suspect was flogging the girl as punishment for an offence, in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The victim was said to have passed out and died afterwards.
Some residents, speaking on the incident, said they warned Alapa many times to desist from assaulting the victim to no avail.
A neighbour identified only as Ellen said, “She usually beats the girl for messing up their apartment.
“Around 3am on the day the girl died, I heard her crying as Alapa flogged her. I woke my husband up to intervene. He said he was tired of the woman’s insults.
“After a while, she stopped crying. It was when I came back from work that afternoon that I saw a crowd in our premises in tears. They said Mbafan was dead and the woman’s husband was not at home that day.
“It was the landlord that told him about the incident on the telephone,” Ellen added, noting that Mbafan’s father was late while her mother was ill and Alapa had brought her to Lagos from a village in the eastern part of Nigeria.
“But she used to beat up and starve the girl of food. On several occasions, the girl would come to me to eat, saying her aunty did not give her food.”
At the Ikorodu General Hospital morgue where Alapa had gone to deposit Mbafan’s corpse, a doctor on duty was said to have noticed marks of violence on the body and alerted the police at the Sagamu Road Division.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Dolapo Badmos, said, “I confirm the case. The suspect is under investigation while the corpse has been deposited in a morgue for autopsy.
“After interrogation, Alapa confessed to beating the girl. She wanted to absolve herself of the death of the victim, but for the doctor on duty who raised the alarm after a close examination and she was arrested.
“There are marks of violence on the body of the deceased and she did not deny beating her.
“She will be charged to court soon.”

“The granddad should order him to go to sleep. They should also perform a cleansing ceremony.”

Read what Fayose said he is
Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has blasted clerics who predicted that he would be impeached or removed, less than a year after assuming office.
In 2014 after his swearing-in, two notable clerics from Ibadan and Akure, predicted that Fayose would not last 12 months in office.
They claimed the Governor would suffer the same fate that befell him in 2006 during his first tenure.
Fayose has gone on to weather the storms of legal and political battles and said he was God’s project.
He was speaking during the annual Christmas Carol Service at the Government House Grounds on Sunday.
According to a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, the Governor had declared that: “God knows everything and for Ekiti and her people, we are going forward and with God all things are possible.
“In January this year, a cleric said I would be removed in 2016 and I am still here by God’s grace. On April 22, 2015, somebody said myself and Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State would be removed from office, but am still here.
“My enemies can’t change my destiny. I am God’s project and all that he plans for my life will come to pass, no matter how bitter some people feel.
Anybody with a negative prophecy against me and this state will fail. We won’t lose any battle in Ekiti. God is bound by His words and will accomplish them.”
Governor Fayose also urged Ekiti people to remain positive minded and expect a better future.
MMM founder warns Nigerian journalists, says scheme will resume in January
The founder of the Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox (MMM), Sergey Mavrodi, has warned Nigerian journalists and the media, about creating panic over the suspension of the ponzi scheme in the country.
Mavrodi, in an open letter, insisted that they have not crashed and will be back in January 2017 as promised.
He wrote: “Dear journalists, “analysts” and all kinds of “experts”!
“Please stop using MMM to gain cheap popularity. Leave us alone and let us work without interference. I’m just astonished by your irresponsibility and cynical attitude. Interests of millions of people, your fellow citizens are at stake. Don’t you have any sympathy for them? Why are you fueling hysteria around MMM and provoking a panic? Why are you doing this so diligently and persistently, what is your purpose?
“In fact, absolutely all your provocative and worthless articles and “analyses” (I said “worthless” because you do not have any real information about what happens in the System, and might have never had; you simply invent everything, fabricate it) are merely negative: “MMM has collapsed!!!.. MMM will not be working in January!!!..” etc. Are you intentionally presenting all of it in such a manner and whipping up tension by any means possible in order to increase the ratings of your publications and attract attention to them? Don’t you care about people at all?
“So, nothing has collapsed, and MMM will safely resume its work in January, as announced. Suspension of work for holidays is a usual thing, merely working moment, no more than that.
It would have remained a normal, just a part of the usual routine, and might have gone almost unnoticed if it were not for your totally cynical and irresponsible attempts to advertise yourself, create a scandal out of nowhere, and make the most of this news topic in any possible way.
“Again, leave MMM alone and let us work. Nothing has collapsed, and MMM will perfectly resume its work in January. We Can Change the World!”

See what happened to a gambler that win 36,000 through betting
While trying to celebrate the win of a N36,000 bet, a gambler has landed in serious problems which has even earned him a court appearance.
Gambler in trouble after celebrating his win of N36,000 bet
According to reports, a gambler identified as Yakubu Bashir, is currently facing charges at the Ikeja Magistrate's court, on counts of fraud and conduct likely to cause breach of the peace.
Bashir was reportedly arrested at the Bendel Inn, Ipodo road, Ikeja, Lagos, for disturbing people's peace after he was asked to pay for his expenses. He had earlier gone to celebrate his N36,000 win from a sports bet he had made, but had ended up incurring a N145,000 bill on food and drinks (he paid for everyone present at the inn).
According to PUNCH Metro, trouble started when the manager of the Inn had asked him to pay up, and he said he had only the N36,000 he had earlier won. He however pleaded to be allowed to pay in installments. This resulted in a disagreement which led to Bashir being reported to the police at the Ikeja Police Division, and his subsequent arrest.
Speaking to the police, Bashir said:
“I am an NCE holder and work as a security guard in a hotel. On December 6, I placed a sports bet and won N36,000. Out of happiness, I went to the bar with my friends to celebrate my breakthrough. The money was in my bank account. I wanted to withdraw it the following morning because we wanted to pass the night at the bar. I explained to a waiter that I would give him N36,000 and pay him up by January, but he refused.”
The charges below was read to him at the court which was presided over by the chief magistrate Mrs. O.A. Akokhia:
"That you, Yakubu Bashir, on December 7, 2016, at about 1.10am at Bendel Inn on Ipodo Road, Ikeja, Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by ordering for assorted drinks and food for your friends worth N145,000 and refusing to pay, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 166 of the Criminal Law, No. 11, Vol.44, Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
That you, on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid magisterial district, did fraudulently collect assorted drinks and food valued at N145,000 promising to pay, knowing same to be false, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 312 of the Criminal Law, No 11, Vol.44, Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.”
Bashir has since pleaded 'not guilty' to the charges, and has been granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. The case has also been adjourned till January 25, 2017.
Shocking: see what to a nurse that pray with patient before operation
Sister Sarah Kuteh, a nurse with 15 years’ experience has been sacked in the UK for sharing her faith with patients.
Kuteh is said to have been sacked after discussing Christianity and offering to pray with patients before operations.
Telegraph UK reports that she was dismissed for breaching guidelines, even though her job involved asking people preparing for surgery about their religion.
The mother-of-three, who is now suing the hospital for unfair dismissal, said she was offering solace to patients she believed were happy to chat about their beliefs, and described her sacking as
‘disproportionate and punitive’.
Mrs Kuteh broke down in tears as she recalled being suspended and escorted from Darent Valley hospital in Dartford, Kent. DailyMail reports she said:
‘It was embarrassing for me – and painful after all I had done in my years as a nurse. I was told I couldn’t even speak to my colleagues. All I had done was to nurse from my heart. How could it be harmful to tell someone about Jesus?’
But bosses at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust said her ‘unwanted discussions’ had upset patients and she had also failed to heed warnings that she was being unprofessional.
One patient had complained that Sister Kuteh had given her a Bible she did not want and had said she would pray for her. Another allegedly said she had felt uncomfortable that Mrs Kuteh was ‘preaching’ at her.
In June, Mrs Kuteh was ‘shocked’ to be told three further complaints had been made, after which she was told to stop assessing patients and was suspended a few days later.
She was sacked in August after an investigation, and her appeal was rejected.

Sorry, we don’t want to be part of Biafra – Niger Delta chieftain issues warning to agitators
- Chris Ekpenyong has asked Biafra agitators not to include the south south region in their plan
- The former governor said the region was not interested in being part of Biafra
Chris Ekpenyong who is a former deputy governor of Akwa Ibom state has issued a warning to Biafra agitators not to force the Niger Delta region into its map.
There has been a rise in the agitation for Biafra especially since President Muhammadu Buhari took over power.
The Indigenous People Of Biafra and the Movement for the Actualisation of a Sovereign State Of Biafra have been agitating for secession and have included the south south region as part of the proposed Biafra state.
This Day reports that the former Akwa Ibom governor called on the pro-Biafra groups to be cautious in their scheming.
Ekpenyong spoke in Uyo where he said Biafra will never be achieved if the Niger Delta region is included in the map.
He also called on Niger Delta militants to stop further destruction of oil facilities in the region to avoid worsening the poverty situation that was already affecting the region.
He said: “The continuing agitation for self-rule by IPOB and MASSOB with their present map of Biafra which includes communities in Akwa Ibom and other South-South states will not succeed because they are not interested in being part of Biafra republic.”
See the baby delivered 107 days after the death of his mother
There are so many amazing things happening in the world. Some of these things will leave you awestruck as you will be left wondering if you are in a trance or not.
Sandra Pedro’s story will leave you feeling emotional and grateful for life at the same time. She was a 37-year-old woman full of life and ready to take on the world.
She lived in Portugal with her first child, a boy, for about 8 years. When she got pregnant the second time, her joy knew no bounds as she looked forward to seeing her baby. However,
She was warned about the risk of having the baby because of her medical history. Earlier, she had suffered from pneumonia and some heart conditions. At some point she was in a coma after having a kidney surgery.
Pedro despite being warned about the risk of having the baby decided to bring her child to the world. In the second month of this year, the pregnant woman was rushed to the intensive care unit after she had a brain hemorrhage. The doctors did all they could to save Pedro who eventually gave up on the 20th of February.
However, Pedro’s death brought about a shocking discovery. An echo-cardiogram was used on her and it was revealed then that the baby’s vital signs remained positive. The baby’s heart beat was beating normally and appeared strong from all indications.
It was an amazing discovery as no one imagined a baby could stay alive inside its mother long after she had died. This discovery made the family of Sandra and that of the baby’s father to draw a conclusion that the pregnancy should be sustained in order to preserve the baby. The tests results were also sent to the Hospital Ethics committee in Lisbon.
The dead woman was placed on life support in order to keep her alive so the baby growing within her will not die. It was a depressing phase for the family members who had to see her lifeless body but the thought of the unborn child growing within her was the ray of light they hoped to see at the end of it all.
Although putting her on the life support was to ensure the survival of the baby, it also meant the medical staff had to do a lot of work in monitoring the body of Pedro and the baby within her. After 107 days of intensive care, the baby was born as a premature baby boy whose signs were strong enough for a premature baby.
Sandra Pedro’s body was finally released to the family for them to perform the last rite after the life support machines were turned off.
The survival of the baby is considered to be a miracle by many baby.
